A while back I listed my wishlist for Google Notifier, and one of them was the lack of Growl support — instead they use a home-grown one that reinvents the wheel, so to speak.
Fortunately, someone created Gmail+Growl for Google Notifier, a Google Notifier plugin that replaces the built-in notifications with Growl notifications.
So that’s one item off that list. The only other one is support for Google Reader, but the Gmail+Growl software apparently is a “plugin” …

Great news. Gmail has introduced support for IMAP, and according to the “what’s new” page:
Don’t fret if you don’t see “IMAP Access” yet under the Settings menu. We’re rolling it out to everyone over the next few days. #
So while it seems like everyone else seems to already have it, I’m still stuck in the dark ages here. I’ve waited for more than a few days, yet still no IMAP. C’mon Google, you’re killing …

Jealous of Microsoft Outlook users’ system tray icon notifying them of new messages, I’ve begun using Google Notifier to help sate this jealousy.
- Growl support — why go through the trouble of using your own notification system? How about, if Growl is installed, use that instead? Growl has many advantages over Google Notifier’s built-in bubbles, and it would be great if this could be supported.
- Google Reader support — Gmail, check. Google Calendar, check. Google …
